Tables and figures

Merops cross-checks citations with tables and figures, and can alert you when something is missing. Some other key features are listed below.

Everything Merops does can be customized to match your style requirements, or made consistent within a document.

Citations

Citation preferences are context specific, so Merops can apply one standard in general text, and other preferences in parentheses, tables, footnotes, or references.

Merops can also apply an abbreviated standard to citations in general text while ensuring they are spelled out in full at the start of a sentence.

Figures

Merops can standardize and correct the presentation of figure labels:

  • FIG. 1- The… Figure 1. The…

Merops can add or remove page breaks before figures and set the caption above or below the graphic.

Captions

Merops can identify and standardize the presentation of labels and captions:

  • TAB. I- The… Table 1. The…

Structure

Merops can automatically convert tabular data separated by multiple spaces and tabs into cellular tables.

Merops can now add or remove page breaks before tables.

The Merops plug-in for Microsoft Word comes with some useful table-editing tools, such as Invert Table and Delete Empty Rows/Columns.

Footnotes

Merops can:

  • crosscheck, sort, and standardize table footnotes;
  • generate an abbreviations list based on abbreviations found in a table.
